FAQ

An ultra short throw projector creates a large cinematic image from just inches away, without long cable runs or ceiling mounting. Keeping the projector close to the screen also reduces interruptions and shadows when people move around the room. AWOL Vision combines this space-saving setup with 4K UHD and RGB triple-laser color for vivid, immersive home cinema viewing.

Note: For dedicated long-throw home theater setups, AWOL Valerion complements the UST lineup with a different approach to large-screen projection.

Laser light sources last much longer than conventional projector lamps and remove the need for routine bulb replacement. Brightness also declines more gradually rather than ending with a sudden lamp failure. AWOL Vision adds RGB triple-laser technology and wide Rec.2020 color coverage, delivering rich color and detailed 4K images for frequent, long-term home theater use.

Choose based on room lighting, preferred screen size, and how you plan to use your projector:

Aetherion Max: Best for brighter living rooms, larger 150–200″ setups, sports, gaming, and all-day entertainment.
Aetherion Pro: Ideal for 100–150″ setups in more controlled lighting, with strong performance for movies, premium streaming, and gaming.
LTV-3000 Pro: A practical choice for 80–150″ setups, especially 100–120″ everyday home theater viewing, streaming, casual movie nights, and light gaming.

Yes. Higher brightness helps maintain a clear image in rooms with ambient light. Aetherion Max delivers 3300 ISO lumens for brighter living spaces and daytime viewing, while Aetherion Pro offers 2600 ISO lumens for moderate ambient light. LTV-3000 Pro performs best in more controlled lighting. For stronger ambient light, pairing the projector with our Cinematic ALR Screen or Daylight ALR Screen helps preserve contrast and image clarity.

Yes. Aetherion Pro and Max are designed for responsive gaming on PS5, Xbox, and PC, with VRR, ALLM, and ultra-low latency helping keep fast action smooth and responsive. LTV-3000 Pro also offers a low-lag Turbo Mode, making it a practical option for more casual gaming.

Yes, with supported formats varying by model. LTV-3000 Pro supports Dolby Vision, HDR10+, Dolby Atmos, and Active 3D. The Aetherion Series supports Dolby Vision and full Active 3D playback, including Side-by-Side, Top-and-Bottom, and Frame Packing for 3D Blu-ray. Aetherion Pro and Max also feature Dolby Vision Gaming and Anti-RBE technology for cleaner 2D and 3D viewing.

UST projectors are designed to sit close to the screen, with exact placement depending on screen size and throw ratio.

Aetherion Series: Uses a 0.2:1 throw ratio. Allow about 6.2″ of rear clearance for a 100″ image and 14.3″ for 150″, excluding projector depth.
LTV-3000 Pro: Uses a 0.25:1 throw ratio and requires slightly more installation space for the same screen size.

For precise placement, use AWOL Vision’s placement calculator.

AWOL Vision laser projectors are built for long-term use. The Aetherion Series is rated for approximately 25,000 hours, while LTV-3000 Pro is rated for 25,000+ hours. This long lifespan reduces the need for light-source replacement and supports reliable everyday use over time.
